Sylvia Ann Wirth, age 88 of Greensburg, formerly of New Pennington, IN passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Manderley Health Care in Osgood, IN. The daughter of Myron and Sylvia Lay was born on September 15, 1931 in Forestville, OH.
The 1949 Sycamore High School graduate married Wallace Wirth on June 30, 1951. Sylvia loved to work in her garden tending to her vegetables and her flowers. She liked spending time canning food, doing puzzles and playing cards. She especially liked being with her grandsons, she even broke her ankle while playing baseball with them once, but they were having fun. Sylvia will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Judith Wirth of Commiskey, IN; grandchildren Zebulan Hildebrand of Milan, IN and Abraham Hildebrand of Versailles, IN; great grandchildren, Wesley, Kaden, Chance, Erica and Sam Hildebrand; along with her sister, Joyce Wirth of Greensburg and brother, David Lay of Lebanon, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wirth, sisters, Carol Raya and Mary Hurst plus her brothers, Myron and Bill Lay.
Graveside services are 2:00pm on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point, IN. Rev. Chris Renick officiating.
