UPDATE: Suspect in Bright robbery shot in Miamisburg

Bright, In. — UPDATE #2 12:59 p.m. 4/4/18— 

A report from WHIO says Miamisburg police have shot and wounded the suspect in the Dollar General Store robbery in Bright.

A report from the Miamisburg Police Department says the suspect was shot following an “officer in distress” call from the Red Roof Inn on Byers Road sometime Wednesday morning. Unconfirmed reports indicate the Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit tracked the 38-year-old Dayton man to the Dayton area.

Identities of the suspect and the Miamisburg police officer have not been released.

 

UPDATE #1: Less than 24-hours after an armed robbery at the Dollar General Store in Bright police have a suspect in custody.

Dearborn-Ohio County prosecutor Lynn Deddens says the name of the suspect will be released once formal charges are filed.

Detectives from the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a suspect in the armed robbery of a Bright business Monday night.

Reports indicate the suspect entered the Dollar General store on Stateline Road in Lawrenceburg around 9:50 p.m. with a black handgun and demanded cash. The suspect fled in a dark-colored pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the man is described as a white male, in his early 30’s, wearing a white T-shirt, a dark hoodie and a dark Carhartt-type jacket, blue sweatpants, white shoes and black stocking cap. Witnesses told police the suspect has a mustache and a “soul patch” below the lower lip.
