Susan Kay Blanton, 67, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 20, 1958, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, to Peg and Bill Blanton Sr.
Susan, affectionately known as “Suz,” was the oldest of four children. She took her role as the firstborn and eldest sibling very seriously and could always be found helping others with all the warmth and kindness in her heart.
Suz was a homemaker with many talents. She enjoyed canning, cooking, and baking, but her greatest talent and passion was needlework. She could often be found working on counted cross-stitch, Hardanger, or quilting. Through her creativity and the time she devoted to her crafts, she brought beauty and warmth into the lives of those around her.
Above all else, Suz’s greatest passion in life was her family she left behind.
Susan is survived by her mother, Peg Blanton; her three siblings, Deb (Ken) Kestler, Bill Blanton Jr., and Terri-Ann (Todd) Albrecht; nephews, Tim (Rose) Hamilton and Christopher Albrecht; nieces, Meghan (Ryan) Clark and Ashley (Nick) Ayala; and her beloved “grandsons,” Nolan and Jaxon Clark, and “grandniece,” Arabella Ayala, whom she adored dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Blanton Sr., in 2014.
Visitation will be held at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In honor and memory of Susan, her family invites everyone to wear bright and bold colors to her visitation. Susan was a bright and vibrant woman who brought light and joy to all those around her, and her family feels that colorful attire is a fitting way to celebrate her life.
A funeral service will be held at First Christian Church in Greensburg, Indiana, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026. A one-hour visitation will precede the service at the church. Interment will follow immediately at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana – Decatur County, the Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) in memory of Susan’s father and his service in the United States Air Force, or First Christian Church of Greensburg, Indiana.
Arrangements are being provided with care by Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be officiated by Ray Sweet of First Christian Church.
