Sunman Food Pantry uses grant to buy Thanksgiving turkeys for the needy

SUNMAN, IN — The Sunman Food Pantry used a $500 Proactive Grant awarded by the Ripley County Community Foundation (RCCF) in July to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys for area needy families.

RCCF awards $1,000 annually to all of the food pantries in the county, with grants made twice a year to each organization.

The Sunman Food Pantry is open most Saturday mornings from 9 until 11 at St. John United Church of Christ in Penntown but will be closed this Saturday for New Year’s Day.

The pantry will be open next Saturday, January 8.
