Summer blackouts possible in Indiana

STATEWIDE — Indiana is among the list of states talking about possible blackouts this summer.

A new report from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation says the power grid in the Midwest will be stressed over the summer months.

Power companies have lost some electricity–creating capabilities because new environmental rules have taken some power plants offline.

Indiana regulators say the Hoosier State has never experienced rolling blackouts but add they could happen as a last resort this summer.
