Sue Carol (Murrell) Weintraut peacefully entered into the next phase of her journey on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Greensburg, Indiana. Sue was born on September 13, 1934, in Shelbyville, Indiana to Carl and Capitola (Southard) Murrell.
Sue graduated from Milroy High School, Milroy, Indiana, and later in life obtained a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University-East. Sue was very passionate about assisting others in finding recovery from their addictions and operated an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program in Rush County, Indiana for many years.
Sue leaves behind her husband, Ralph Weintraut; sons: Fred (Roberta) Becht and Todd (Michelle) Becht; stepchildren: Debbie (Dane) Osbourne, John (Michelle) Weintraut, Angel (Brian) Hocker; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-great grandchild, and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:30am at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, Indiana. A memorial service will follow the time of the gathering and will start at 11:30.
