Stronger requirements on masks at local school

Greensburg, IN — Due to renewed concerns, the administration at North Decatur Jr-Sr High School is putting a stronger emphasis on the requirements set forth by Governor Holcomb’s Mask Mandate.

Effective immediately, all coaches and workers must have face coverings on at all times. Also, any player or cheerleader not engaged in physical activity causing them to have an elevated heart rate must have a face covering on at all times. In addition, when possible, the players and cheerleaders are strongly encouraged to remain at least 6′ apart.

All fans must have a face covering on to be admitted to an event and a face covering must be worn to be granted access to the restroom facilities or the concession stand. Anyone within 6′ of a person not from their household should have a face covering on at all times.

North Decatur Jr-Sr High School principal, Debbie Reynolds, stated this will be enforced until the Governor removes or changes the mask mandate.

Last Friday, South Decatur Jr-Sr High School announced that it would be going virtual for all classes until at least September 21st due to contact tracing of a COVID-19 positive student.  This also caused the cancellation of last Friday’s South Decatur football game.
