Multiple reports of damage have been received following a line of strong storms on Wednesday.

Officials are looking into a property that received damage to a barn and home in southern Ripley County, south of Rexville, in Madison.

Ripley County EMA Director Patrick Rose said the homeowner on West C.R. 900 S reported a strong gust of wind that was followed by the calm.

“We have notified [the National Weather Service] in Wilmington in order to see if they will send a team to tell us what caused the damage,” Rose said.

In Decatur County, down trees and power lines from the storm forced officials to close C.R. 20 W between C.R. 400 and C.R. 500 S until road crews can get debris cleaned up Thursday.

Several other roads in the county also had down trees and power lines, according to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department.

Trees were reported down throughout the region including Napoleon and New Marion.
