String of car break-ins in Greensburg

Greensburg, IN — Several neighborhoods in Greensburg are reporting that their cars and mailboxes have been broken into recently.  Video has surfaced of three men opening an unlocked car and stealing the owner’s wallet in the late-night hours.  Others have reported that all the mailboxes in their neighborhood have been opened.

The Greensburg Police Department started a campaign a few months ago to remind citizens to lock up their homes and cars at night called the #9PMRoutine. What is the #9PMRoutine? It is a social media campaign to raise awareness and highlight how to prevent vehicle burglary and burglary to your home. They advise citizens to get into the routine every night by joining millions of people across the country in following the #9PMRoutine.

Each night the police department will post reminders to the public via their social media platforms. They may use some quirky, funny memes or post some tips to protect your property and valuables. You are encouraged to get into the routine of removing your valuables and locking your vehicle. You help prevent loss of your valuables and reduce the risk of it occurring in your neighborhood.
