Street improvements underway in Greensburg

Greensburg, Ind. — There are two road improvement projects underway in the city of Greensburg.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says U.S. 421 in heart of the city will receive new signals, resurfacing, some curb replacement and ADA compliant sidewalk ramps. Some detours will be implemented during construction. The work includes operations on South Michigan Avenue, Main Street, Ireland Street and North Michigan Avenue. The project is funded by the state. This will last through August.

Additionally, several streets in the city are being repaved. This project uses recycled millings from the existing surface to produce a new driving surface. This project also includes select ADA compliant ramps and curbs replacement. Half of this work is paid for by the city, the other half by the State of Indiana.

City officials apologize for the inconvenience but say the improvements will be welcome.
