GREENSBURG, IN — An iconic part of the Courthouse Square in Greensburg is back.

Storie’s Restaurant, which closed in July 2021 after the Storie family retired, reopened Tuesday on the south side of the square under new owners Tony and Gega Sharp of North Vernon.

The Sharps have possession of and are using the Storie family recipes and have retained staff, and have painted and brightened the restaurant’s interior.

Lewis and Katherine Storie took ownership of Keillor’s Restaurant at 109 E. Main Street 45 years ago and changed the name to “Storie’s.”

The couple’s children eventually took over the restaurant. The death of Chuck Storie in February 2021 was a reported reason for his brother Don Storie to close the doors and lock it up for the final time under family ownership.

However, with the reopening, the restaurant renowned throughout Decatur County and other places near and far for its tenderloins and homemade pies is back serving hungry locals and others visiting the Tree City.
