Stella Marie Vanderpohl, 92, of Greensburg passed away on August 15, 2023. She was born on March 31, 1931 in Greensburg, Indiana the daughter of Raymond and Hilda (Thrine) Burkhart. Stella worked as a custodian at the Greensburg Senior Center and was a Cook at both the Koffee Kup and Caleb’s. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed playing Bingo, doing puzzles, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and attending vendor events with her granddaughter and supporting her home based businesses.
Survivors include: Children, Brenda (Paul) Dall, Dale Vanderpohl and Bonnie (Ron) Frazier; Grandchildren, Matthew Vanderpohl, Amber Vanderpohl, Desmond (Victoria) Corn, Jessica (Nick) Smith and Lauren (Curtis) Dyer; Great Grandchildren, Caden Smith, Reid Smith, Addison Dyer, Abigail Dyer, and Dakota Sovern; Great Great Granddaughter, Ariah Hairston, Siblings, Richard Burkhart, Paul (Patricia) Burkhart, Thelma (Don) Griewe, Rita (Larry) Dickman, and Margie (Bill) Eldridge.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Steve Vanderpohl; Grandson, Paul French; Siblings, Ralph Burkhart, Russell Burkhart and Robert “Bob” Burkhart; and her dear friend, Virgil Huff.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Father John Meyer will be officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
