State Road 46 reopens west of Penntown following bridge replacement project

(Ripley County, IN) – Good news if you typically drive on State Road 46 near Penntown.

INDOT has reopened 46 west of State Road 101 over Little Pipe Creek following the completion of a bridge replacement project that began in early April.

(Ripley County, IN) – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Inc. announces plans to close State Road 46 over Little Pipe Creek on or after Monday, April 3 for a bridge replacement project in Ripley County.

The bridge is located between N. County Road 600 E. and State Road 101 west of Penntown and is expected to remain closed for up to 120 days, weather permitting.

Motorists should use the official detour route, which follows I-74 to State Road 101 and back to State Road 46.

The contract was awarded to Paul H. Rohe Inc. for $1.4 million in October 2022.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones.
