JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. – State troopers will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Jackson County between midnight and 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
The exact location was not immediately released but police say it will be determined by arrest and crash data. Police offer the following tips in an effort to make Indiana roadways safer:
- Plan ahead and use a designated driver
- Don’t get behind the wheel of a vehicle if you’ve been consuming alcoholic beverages.
- If you are hosting a party, always offer non-alcoholic beverages and make sure all your guests leave with a sober driver or allow them to spend the night
- Take the keys and never let a friend leave your sight if you think that they are about to drive drunk.
If you see someone driving in a manner you suspect of being impaired call 911.
