Stanley H. “Stan” Davis Sr.

Stanley H. “Stan” Davis Sr., 80 Years, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Thursday May 3, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was born November 20, 1937 in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Harold Davis and Esther (Kinnett) Davis.

He worked as a Lab Group Leader for Monsanto, retiring after over 37 years of service.

Stan was one of the original founders of the Manchester Vol. Fire Dept., where he served as treasurer. He was President of the Manchester PTA, coached baseball and basketball for the Manchester Community, was a Cub Scout Master, and he judged several times at the Science Fair. Stan enjoyed bowling, loved to hunt, fish and raise a garden. He loved old cars and enjoyed going to car shows. Stan worked in the garden center at Walmart. He was very friendly and always smiling, he didn’t know a stranger. He was a great husband, dad and he especially loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Stan was very involved with his family and community, leaving behind a great legacy. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Anita (Parish) Davis of Aurora, IN; children, Stanley H (Dianne) Davis Jr. of Rising Sun, IN, Deborah (late Alan) Tarplee of Aurora, IN, Michael W. (Kelley) Davis of Lawrenceburg, IN, Cynthia (late Gary) Ollier of Lawrenceburg, IN, Steven L. (Mary) Davis of Guilford, IN, Kathleen J. (Brian) Ickenroth of Aurora, IN; sisters, Margie (Jerry) Stephens of Milan, IN, Carolyn (Stanley) Bear of Manchester, IN; grandchildren, Zachary & Brittany Davis, Bridget (Cameron) McCreary, Derek Davis, Matthew (Shawna) Davis, Sophia Davis, Samantha Lane, Rebecca Ollier, Kaitlyn Davis, Kelsey Davis, Carson Davis, Kayla Hensley, Braden & Kara Ickenroth; great-grandchildren, Alexie & Breckin McCreary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received Sunday, May 6, 2018, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home, Monday May 7, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Burcham officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
