The Cardinals 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams swept South Decatur on the road Monday night.
7th grade won in 2 sets with scores of 25-9 and 25-11. Cardinals were led in scoring by Kristen Obermeyer who served 15 ace points and Heidi Schneider who added 8 ace points. Claire Baker and Lydia Dwyer each added a block. Reagan Siefert contributed 5 blocks and 1 kill.
The 8th grade won in 3 sets with scores of 25-17, 14-25, and 17-15. The Cardinals fought back after being down initially in the 3rd set to take the match. Emma Hunter led the way in scoring with 11 points, including 5 aces. Claire Baker added 10 points with 3 aces. Natalie Kranz put up a huge defensive effort with 8 blocks and 3 digs, and added 2 kills. Grace Hardebeck contributed 7 digs and Bella Watson added another 6 digs. Emma Hunter scored 3 kills of her own.
