Tuesday night the Cardinals traveled to Batesville. The 7th-grade team won in a thrilling come-from-behind game. They lost the first set 25-18, then won sets 2 and 3 with scores of 25-23 and 15-7. The Cardinals showed great determination and never gave up. Emma Hunter led scorers with 15 points, including 6 aces. Elsa Schneider added 7 points and 1 ace, and Grace Hardebeck contributed 5 scoring points. Emma Hunter also recorded 2 blocks and 3 kills. Elsa Schneider added 3 blocks and 2 kills. Bella Watson received 26 opposition serves with only 5 passing errors.
The 8th grade team put up a fight against a very tough Batesville team losing 25-11 and 25-15. Natalie Kranz was the leading scorer with 3 points, including 1 ace. Other scorers were Emma Hunter and Aubrey Baker each adding 2 serving points, and Bella Watson contributing 1 serving point. Natalie Kranz and Aubrey Baker each added 2 blocks. Bella Watson once again led the way in serve receiving with 20 receptions and only 4 errors.
The Cardinals take on St. Mary at home on Thursday night. Thursday 9/21 will be the Cardinal’s last home game of the season where we will honor our 8th graders!
