The St. Louis 7th Grade Boys Basketball team lost a hard-fought game to Batesville 39-29. The first quarter saw a hard-fought quarter as both teams played good defense and both teams could only manage 4 points a piece. The second quarter was the killer quarter for the Cardinals. It saw Batesville go on an 18-2 run which the Cardinals could not recover from and had a 22-6 halftime deficit. This did not stop the Cardinals though as they started to fight back into the game. They were able to outscore Batesville 12-9 in the 3rd quarter and fought back to 29-35 with a minute to go. The comeback came up a little short as the Cardinals had a couple of shots to get it a little closer but just couldn’t close the gap. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Luke Richardson with 16 points, Cam Anderson had 11 points, and Hunter Young had 2 points.
