Laurel, IN – The St. Louis Cardinals travelled to Laurel on Monday for a matchup against the Yellow Jackets.
In the 5th grade game, The Yellow Jackets came out firing and scored a quick 6 points to start the game. The Cardinals were forced to burn a timeout early in the game.
After that timeout, St. Louis found their rhythm, scoring at will the rest of the half. They claimed a 16 point lead at halftime.
The rest of the game was all Cardinals. They scored 11 points in the third and 12 points in the fourth to carry them to victory. St. Louis defeats Laurel, 50-19.
Levi Nobbe led all scorers with 13 points, closely followed by teammate JJ Hountz, who scored 12. Lucas Werner had 7 points, Kaleb Hardebeck 6, Luke Enneking added 4, Isaac Nunez 2.
With this dominant win, the 5th grade St. Louis Cardinals improve their record to 7-1 on the season!
Unfortunately, the 6th grade was the opposite of what was expected and shown in the 5th grade game. The Cardinals fought hard all game and had spurts of good defense, but could never get their shots to fall.
