(Morris, IN) – One of Southeastern Indiana’s most beloved and popular traditions will be renewed over the holiday weekend.

The St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Labor Day Picnic and Festival returns for its 109th year on Monday, September 7.

Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 4781 E Morris Church St. in Morris.

The event features a full day of fun for the entire family, including a straw maze, games, face painting, a beer garden and more.

This year’s grand raffle tops $20,000 in cash, gold, silver and prizes.

Their famous fried chicken will once again be prepared and served by dedicated volunteers using a time-honored recipe, with half and whole chickens available.

Drive-thru is also available.

“Dine in, carry out or drive thru; whatever works best for you. And for added convenience, we’re now accepting debit and credit cards on-site,” organizer Vanessa Beetz said.

Guests can relax with friends in the beer garden while enjoying live entertainment from Elvis tribute singer Mike Davis, who will perform from Noon to 2 p.m.
