(Versailles, IN) – The South Ripley School Board this week recognized two elementary students for their fundraising efforts to pay off negative student lunch account balances.

Hannah Bradley and Makenna Lee originally started out hoping to get enough money to “pay off negative balances at South Ripley Elementary School, according to Superintendent Rob Moorhead.

“Our community was so generous in giving, that these girls raised over $2,200 and paid off all of the negative lunch account balances for the entire district, helping over 200 kids,” he said.

“What these young ladies did was fantastic. We have a motto that we follow that says, ‘Do the right thing and treat people right,'” Moorhead added. “These girls exemplify that in the way they conducted this fundraising campaign, putting others before themselves.”
