Oldenburg Academy boys soccer knocked off Jac-Cen-Del 6-1 at the Graveyard. The Twisters’ Connor Holder had his second consecutive four-goal game and third straight hat-trick in the win. Adam Weber and Damien Brelage also scored for OA. Weber recorded two assists in the contest. The Twisters outshot the Eagles 37-8. Ryan Hautman had two saves in goal and Max Gauck recorded four more for the Twisters. OA improves to 5 and 3 on the season.
Batesville boys tennis defeated East Central and Hagerstown by identical 4-1 scores in a pair of non-conference dual meets. With the two wins, the Bulldogs improve to 9 and 2.
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 in the series opener on the West Coast heard late last night on WRBI. Teoscar Hernandez’s three-run homer in the 6th inning catapulted the Dodgers to the win. Elly De La Cruz and Eugenio Suarez both clubbed solo home runs for the Reds. The middle game of the series is tonight, and the starting pitching matchup features a pair of lefthanders. Nick Lodolo (3-3, 5.08 ERA) goes for the Reds while the Dodgers counter with two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal (8-7, 2.86 ERA). Coverage begins at 9:40 on 103.9 FM.
Before last night’s game, the Reds activated third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes from the 10-day Injured List (left groin strain) and sent infielder Edwin Arroyo back to Triple-A Louisville.
