Battle Ground Golf Club near Lafayette will host this year’s IHSAA girls golf state finals on October 2 and 3. The change in venue comes as a result of the extreme weather events that impacted Central Indiana in recent weeks. Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, the host course for the last 12 years and bordering the White River, was greatly affected and notified the IHSAA that it would be unable to host this year’s event. The venue change was approved last week by the IHSAA Executive Committee at its first meeting of the 2026-27 school year.
The San Diego Padres blanked the Reds 5-0 in the series opener in downtown Cincinnati heard last night on WRBI. The Padres scored four runs in the top of the 4th inning of Reds starter Brady Singer, who was tagged with his 13th loss of the year. Singer gave up four earned runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts and no walks over 4 1/3 innings. San Diego had 15 hits on the night while the Reds could muster only five. Game two of the series is tonight. Lefthander Nick Lodolo (3-3, 5.24 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Reds. Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 FM.
Eugenio Suarez will miss the Reds games tonight and tomorrow against the Padres to take the U.S. naturalization test. Suarez, a native of Venezuela, will take a written English language exam, an oral civics test and go through an interview – all of which are required to obtain U.S. citizenship.
