East Central graduate and Mt. St. Joseph freshman wide receiver Eli Aston had a record-setting day in the Lions’ 46-43 win at Franklin College on Saturday. Aston broke the single-season receiving record held for 20 years by Mt. St. Joseph Hall of Famer Andy Wellendorf, who had 1,101 yards. Aston now has 1,103 yards and counting. The Lions have a bye this weekend before a road game at Manchester on November 9. They’ll wrap up the season on November 16 at home against Rose-Hulman.

In the NBA, the Magic beat the Pacers 119-115 in Orlando. Pascal Siakim led the Pacers with 26 points, while Tyrese Haliburton just missed a triple double. He had 19 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Indiana has dropped three in a row since winning the season opener. The Pacers will be back in action at home tomorrow night against the defending World Champion Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Dodgers doubled up the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 3 of the World Series last night in the Bronx. LA takes a commanding three games to none lead and can complete the series sweep with a win in Game 4 tonight.

On Monday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers slid past the New York Giants 26-18.
