Sports Daily Digest February 15, 2025

Class 2A #1 South Ripley held off South Dearborn 71-61 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Raiders stay undefeated at 19-0 while the Knights drop to 12-8. South Ripley’s Cole Henry led all scorers with 35 points, Blaine Ward added 17 and Drew Volz chipped in 13. Tyler Christian led SD with 25 points and Ben Shorten contributed 13.

In other games involving area teams, Centerville bounced Franklin County 72-49; Hauser grounded Jac-Cen-Del 75-36; North Decatur topped  Knightstown 63-51; Union County edged Oldenburg Academy 50-44, and Waldron bested South Decatur 45-29.

Coming up today, Batesville is at East Central; Greensburg visits Madison; Milan heads down State Road 350 to South Dearborn, and South Decatur heads to Seton Catholic.

It’s girls basketball regional Saturday, and we have a doubleheader on the Sports Voice. South Decatur goes up against 8th ranked Oldenburg Academy in the Class 1A regional at Southwestern (Shelby) this afternoon. Coverage begins at 12:30 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app…In Class 3A, top ranked and undefeated Greensburg faces #3 Washington at Charlestown this evening. WRBI airtime is 6:30.

East Central takes on #11 Bloomington South in the Class 4A regional at Bedford North Lawrence tonight. Tipoff is at 7:00.

In college basketball, UCLA held off a late charge and beat Indiana 72-70 at Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers fall to 15-11 overall and 6-9 in the Big Ten.

The seventh ranked Purdue Boilermakers entertain the #16 Wisconsin Badgers this afternoon. They’ll tip things off in West Lafayette at 1:00.
