The Cincinnati Reds held on to beat the Chicago Cubs 10-8 at Wrigley Field in a game heard yesterday afternoon on WRBI. The Reds clubbed four home runs, including rookie Sal Stewart’s 29th long ball of the season. Stewart also drove in two, which gives him 102 Major League-leading RBIs. Andrew Abbott (6-9, 4.15 ERA) starts the middle game of the series this afternoon for Cincinnati. He’ll be opposed by former Red Kevin Gausman (7-11, 4.37 ERA). Coverage begins at 1:50 on 103.9 FM.
The Reds placed third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes on the 10-day Injured List with a groin strain. Infielder Edwin Arroyo was recalled from Triple-A Louisville replace Hayes on the active roster.
The Cincinnati Bengals went on the road and beat the Philadelphia Eagles 30-13 last night in both teams’ final preseason game. The Bengals and other NFL teams have until 6 p.m. tomorrow to get down to the 53-man roster limit.

The Indiana Fever eclipsed the Connecticut Sun 111-91 in WNBA action last night in downtown Indianapolis. Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark both scored 34 points. Clark also dished out 12 assists. The Fever takes a 26 and 14 record into the two-week break for the FIBA World Cup.
The NTT IndyCar Series is back at the Milwaukee Mile this weekend for a doubleheader. It’s the last oval race on the schedule for the 2026 season. Alex Palou’s points lead was cut into by Kyle Kirkwood in Washington, D.C. last weekend.
