St. Louis track and field finished second in both the boys and girls tri-meet at South Decatur that included Jac-Cen-Del. In the boys meet, it was the host Cougars with 70 points; the Cardinals 36, and the Eagles 20. Jac-Cen-Del claimed the girls meet with 52 1/2 points; St. Louis was second with 50 1/2, and South Decatur had 22.

The Colorado Rockies hammered the Reds 13-2 last night in downtown Cincinnati in a game heard on WRBI. Reds starter Brandon Williamson left the game after three innings with left shoulder fatigue. Williamson allowed four runs on four hits, while walking four and striking out four. He took the loss and falls to 2-3 on the year. The Reds avoided the shutout when Will Benson smacked a two-run homer in the 9th inning. The rubber match of the three-game series is this afternoon. Lefthander Andrew Abbott gets the start for Cincinnati, looking for his first win of the year. Former Red Michael Lorenzen will take the ball for Colorado. Reds pitcher Graham Ashcraft was placed on the bereavement list on Wednesday. In a corresponding move, the team recalled righthanded relief pitcher Luis Mey from Triple-A Louisville.
