North Decatur hammered Edinburgh 20-1 in varsity baseball last evening. Nolan Burkhart went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Chargers…In the JV contest, Edinburgh beat North Decatur 10-3, despite the Chargers outhitting the Lancers.

Also in JV baseball action, it was Batesville over Milan 10-2.

The St. Louis boys and girls middle school track teams both placed third in a three-way meet wit Jac-Cen-Del and Switzerland County last night. The Cardinal boys had 22 points while the girls team finished with 23.

The Reds topped the Marlins 5-2 to salvage the final game of their series in Miami yesterday as heard on WRBI. Catcher Austin Wynns clubbed a solo homer, an RBI double and singled to lead the Cincinnati offense. Brady Singer outdueled Marlins starter and former Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara on the mound. Singer allowed four hits, two runs, no walks and struck out eight over six innings to run his record to 4-0. Emilio Pagan pitched a scoreless 9th inning to earn his fifth save. The Reds have today off before beginning the third and final leg of the road trip tomorrow night in Denver against the Colorado Rockies.

Scott Dixon had the fastest lap on Day One of open testing for the Indy 500. The six-time IndyCar series champion turned in a top lap of 225.182 mph during Wednesday’s final hour of testing. Today is the final day of open testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off its three-day run tonight at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Cincinnati Bengals have the 17th overall pick in the first round, while the Indianapolis Colts will pick three spots ahead of them at #14.
