Southeast Indiana native identified as homicide victim

Beech Grove, In. — September 3rd, 2018, Indiana State Police were contacted by a concerned southeastern Indiana family about a possible missing person, last known to be in the Indianapolis area.

The reporting person told troopers they had not heard from Jeremy S. Cain, 33, of Indianapolis since late August. A missing persons report was filed and a subsequent investigation into the whereabouts of Mr. Cain began. As investigators followed several leads the suspicion of foul play grew. September 11th, 2018 the remains of Jeremy Cain were located by detectives in the Beech Grove area. Investigators found evidence of a possible homicide turning the missing person case into a homicide investigation. Mr. Cain’s remains were turned over to the Marion County Coroner’s Office for further investigation.
