It was quite a match Thursday between South Ripley and Southwestern. The Rebels won two sets in extended play but the Raiders took the other three to win the match 3-2. Final scores were 24-26, 25-18, 26-28, 25-21 and 15-11.
For Ripley, Rachel Meyer had 28 kills and 2 blocks while Sarah Meyer slammed 16 kills and 6 blocks. Marissa Naylor carded 19 kills in the loss for Southwestern.
Southwestern coach Chris Johnson said, “It was a tough loss but we played well throughout the match. We had some errors that came at really bad times toward the end of sets which we were not able to recover from. It was a good match to watch though…fun and competitive from start to finish. I’m proud of the way my girls played and kept their composure through some difficult circumstances.”

- Elle Ford- hit going 25 for 27 with 10 kills
- Ashleigh Ream- played great defense and went 33 for 34 passing with 19 digs and added 3 kills.
- Meaghan Kramer- 137 for 140 setting with 39 assists and added 1 kill, 1 block and 21 digs.
South Ripley’s JV also won 25-23, 25-17.
