South Ripley varsity softball suffers shutout loss to Rising Sun

South Ripley varsity softball struggled to get on base in their 9-0 loss to Rising Sun on Monday.

Elaina Titkemeyer was dominant on the mound for the Shiners, striking out 13 batters and allowing just two hits in 7 innings on the mound.

The Shiners scored runs in 5 straight innings (2nd-6th) in the 9-run win. Tamryn Miller went 2-4 at the plate with a double and 3 RBI. Nora Powell also had a big game batting 3-5 with 2 double and 3 RBI.

South Ripley’s two hits in the game came from Georgia Mertz and Kelly Lohrum.

Morgan Meyer and Brooklyn Brown pitched in the loss for the Raiders. Meyer gave up 5 earned runs in 4 innings on the mound. Brown went two inning in relief, walked 5 batters and allowed 2 earned runs.
