South Ripley varsity softball drops high scoring road game to Southwestern Hanover

It was a barn burner of a game on Tuesday as South Ripley varsity softball fell to Southwestern Hanover 17-11 on the road Monday night.

The Rebels scored runs in all 6 innings they were on offense. Southwestern Hanover scored 11 of their 17 innings in the first innings.

Brooklyn Brown was the top hitter for the Raiders going 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI.

The Raiders gave up 6 extra base hits in the loss.

For Southwestern Hanover, Ashley Fulton went 3-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI, and Breona Brewer went 3-4 on the day with 4 RBI.

Fulton earned the win on the mound, striking out 5, giving up 7 earned runs.

Brown took the loss on the mound for the Raiders, striking out 9 and walking 6, giving up 13 earned runs.

The Raiders return to action on Wednesday at home against Rising Sun. First pitch is at 5pm.
