South Ripley teacher leaves harmonious legacy

Versailles, IN—Patsy F. Holdsworth of Versailles passed away on Monday.  You would be more likely to recognize her as Mrs. Holdsworth.  She began her teaching career in 1966 but in 1967 she and Mr. Holdsworth moved to Versailles and embarked on a music teaching career at South Ripley that spanned over 30 years.  she taught music to all 12 grades and also taught English. Upon her retirement in 1999, she continued to share her gift of music by substitute teaching at Jennings County, Milan, South Decatur, and South Ripley.

One of her biggest accomplishments at South Ripley was establishing the Young Confederates, a singing group which recently celebrated 50 years. Mrs. Holdsworth was named Teacher of the Year on two different occasions during her tenure at South Ripley.
