South Ripley takes two in own 7th grade hoops invitational

South Ripley 7th grade boys basketball dominated at their own invitational over the weekend. It was the Raiders over Batesville 46-21 in Game 1.

Landon Werner scored 14 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, and blocked 1 shot. Eli Gilpin had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocked shots; Blake Gunter added 6 points and 1 rebound, and Abe Speer had 1 assist and 2 rebounds and hit a 3-pointer before breaking his foot and wasn’t able to play the rest of the invitational.

It was South Ripley over Jac-Cen-Del in Game 2, 49-22.

Gilpin scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and blocked 3 shots, while Blake Gunter added 11 points and 10 boards, and Werner had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Trigg Hostetler added 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Keeton Miller had 5 points and 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.

The 7th-grade Raiders of Coach Rodney Gullin play at home this Saturday in the ORVC tournament.
