South Ripley softball gives up 23 runs in loss to Lawrenceburg

The South Ripley Raiders varsity softball team had a tough go of things on Friday as they were shut out by Lawrenceburg 23-0 in 4 and a 1/2 innings

The Raiders gave up big innings of 9 runs in the 1st inning and 13 in the 4th. Most of the damage done by the Tigers was done by the 3, 4, and 5 hitters in the order for Lawrenceburg. Brooklynn Couch, Meghan Heinsman, and Haylee Parmer went a combined 7-11 with 2 doubles, 1 home run, and 14 RBI.

South Ripley managed just 4 hits in the game.

Morgan Meyer took the loss on the mound for the Raiders, walking 14 while giving up 17 earned runs in the 3 and 1/3 innings work.

Palmer earned the win for Palmer, striking out 10 and walking two in 4 innings.

South Ripley returns to action on Monday, April 17th, at Southwestern Hanover. First pitch is at 5:00 pm.
