Braxton Wilson struck out 12 batters as the starting pitcher led the Raiders past Shawe Memorial 9-2 on Monday. Wilson surrendered four hits and two runs over seven innings while walking three.
South Ripley were the first to get on the board in the first when Trenton Smith scored on an error.
Mason McNew drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Raiders with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. South Ripley had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Trevor Castner and Trenton Smith led the team with three walks. Trenton Smith and Gabe Stone each stole multiple bases for South Ripley. The Raiders stole seven bases in the game. South Ripley was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ethan Schmaltz had the most chances in the field with 12.
