South Ripley awarded grant to help homeless, displaced students

South Ripley Schools Superintendent Rob Moorhead.

VERSAILLES, IN — The South Ripley School Corporation was recently awarded a McKinney-Vento Grant.

Funds for the grant came through the US Department of Education under the American Rescue Plan.

“Elementary Principal Ryan Lauber is our McKinney-Vento liaison and he worked on this grant application, and we were able to secure $16,824.10,” said Superintendent Rob Moorhead. “This will allow us to provide the services needed for our homeless youth and those who are displaced from their regular home setting for a period of time.”

Moorhead presented the information about the grant award to the South Ripley School Board at Monday night’s meeting.

He was a guest on Wednesday’s edition of The Daily Pod on WRBI.
