DUNLAPSVILLE, IN — A boating excursion on the Union County side of Brookville Lake last weekend provided quite the surprise in the form of a large snake.

Amber Conley’s Facebook post showing the giant snake has been shared more than 3,500 times as of Thursday afternoon and has received thousands of comments.

Reactions have ranged from “that can’t be Brookville Lake” to “that’s not real.”

Conley insists it is and she has been quick to shut down the skeptics.

She estimates the snake to be 4 to 5 feet long.

Conley and Brad Walton (pictured) were boating on “The Shore Thing” near Quakertown Marina when the giant snake was pulled from the water.

Walton thinks the snake died from trying to swallow a large fish.
