BATESVILLE, IN — “So You Want to Be in a Musical: Audition Workshop” will be held on Saturday, April 2 from 10 until 11 am at Batesville Christian Church located at 1294 Columbus Avenue.
The Batesville Area Arts Council (BAAC) is sponsoring a free workshop providing tips and offering ways to improve your theater audition.
They will demonstrate several areas: How to choose a song, reading for a part, the information you should bring, and time to allow.
BAAC will also talk about other needs to make a show a success, such as what happens backstage and offstage, as well as other opportunities to get involved.
Afterward, attendees will be offered additional information and the opportunity to sign up for an audition slot for this summer’s musical “Shrek.”
The audition dates are April 9 and 10 at Batesville Christian Church, with slots available Saturday from 1 until 5 pm and Sunday from 1 until 4 pm.
The show will be presented June 24 through the 26 at Batesville High School.
