South Decatur High School held the basketball awards ceremony Monday night to celebrate one of the most successful seasons in school history.
Varsity award winners for 2025-26 included seniors Drake Scaggs (Most Valuable Player; 1,000 point career scorer; All Mid-Hoosier Conference Team; Honorable Mention All-State); Grady Scudder (Mental Attitude); Karson Templeton (Most Improved), and Cayden Drake (Cougar Award; All Mid-Hoosier Conference Team; Honorable Mention All-State).
The Cougars won the sixth boys basketball sectional championship in school history, finishing 18-7 with a state-best win improvement of plus-12 from the previous season.
