
(Terre Haute, IN) – Greensburg resident Scott Simmonds was recently presented the Career Achievement Award from the Rose-Hulman Alumni Association.
The organization says the 2026 Alumni Awards were presented to a distinguished group of alumni, faculty, staff, and a student in recognition of their professional achievements, leadership, and meaningful contributions to their communities and the Institute.
Simmonds is a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, a law firm in Indianapolis.
He is also chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Intellectual Property Department and a member of the firm’s Management Committee.
Simmonds graduated from Rose-Hulman in 1991 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He transitioned from a manufacturing engineering career into law.
A registered patent attorney, he has been recognized nationally for his legal expertise and has contributed to healthcare leadership through service on the Decatur County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.
