Shelbyville, In. — A Shelbyville man is behind bars after providing a false identity during a traffic stop for an equipment violation.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday police stopped a car with a malfunctioning headlight. The female driver provided a driver’s license but the passenger could only provide a name and date of birth.
Further investigation determined the true identity of the passenger was Dominique Reid, 29, of Shelbyville. Police determined Reid was wanted in Shelby County for theft of a firearm, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana. Reid also had arrest warrants from Marion County for battery resulting in bodily injury and domestic battery.
During a search police found an unused syringe and a jar containing suspected marijuana. Reid was taken into custody at the scene.
