Several area hospitals and care facilities issue restrictions

Southeastern, IN—Several area hospitals have issued visitor restrictions in response to the COVID-19 cases in the State.

Decatur County Memorial Hospital is asking that all visitors must enter through the main entrance only located on the east side near the Emergency Department.  Also, no visitors with influenza-like illness or condition (fever or cough) will be allowed, no visitors under the age of 14 will be allowed unless special arrangements are made, and visitors will be limited to 2 immediate family members, partners or “significant others,” or as determined on a case-by-case basis.

Rush County Memorial Hospital and Major Hospital in Shelbyville have issued similar statements.

Several long term care facilities in the Ripley, Decatur, and Franklin County area have also issued visitor restrictions.  If you are unsure if there is a restriction on your loved one’s facility, call ahead before visiting.
