(Ripley County, IN) – A pair of car crashes into utility poles believed to have taken place minutes apart on the 8,000 block of State Road 48 west of State Road 101 in Ripley County early Tuesday morning resulted in downed power lines and a lengthy road closure.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles told WRBI that all of the occupants of the vehicles left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Wheeles says troopers are trying to determine who was driving as well as the actual car owners.
He called the incident “an odd situation.”
The initial call came in just after 4 a.m., and Duke Energy took care of the downed power lines and restored service before clearing the scene around 10:15 a.m.
