SEIREMC announces planned outage next week in Dearborn County

OSGOOD, IN — Southeastern Indiana REMC (SEIREMC) says a planned outage has been scheduled for April 13 around 10 am to change out a damaged utility pole in Dearborn County.

The outage is expected to last three to six hours and will impact approximately 100 members located on Georgetown Road from the intersection of Fairway Drive to the intersection of Morning Side Drive.

SEIREMC encourages all members in the affected location to prepare for this interruption in service and will work quickly and safely to restore the power in a timely manner.

“We try to make repairs without interrupting the electric service whenever possible,” said Line Superintendent Jim Downey. “But in cases like this one, it is not safe to change out the pole while it is still energized.”

If the work cannot be completed on April 13, the backup date for the planned outage is April 14.
