The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) has recognized standout performances from across the state, and Southeastern Indiana players made a strong showing in the latest round of honors. Among the week’s top performers are Hauser junior Stryker Gill and South Ripley senior Cole Henry, while Jennings County’s Carter Kent also earned recognition.

Hauser’s Stryker Gill Earns Co-Player of the Week

Hauser junior Stryker Gill turned in a dominant all-around effort to lead the Class 1A No. 2 Jets to a regional championship victory over Indianapolis Lutheran. Gill recorded a rare triple-double, tallying 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists as Hauser claimed its third regional title in program history and first since 2006. The 5-10 guard shot 5-of-9 from the field, including three 3-pointers, while also dishing out his 211th assist of the season, extending his school record.

South Ripley’s Cole Henry and Blaine Ward Recognized

South Ripley saw two players honored earlier in the season, with seniors Cole Henry and Blaine Ward earning co-Player of the Week honors for their efforts in late December. The duo played key roles in leading the Raiders to a strong season, with Henry showcasing his inside presence and Ward excelling from the perimeter. Their performances helped South Ripley make a deep postseason push.

Jennings County’s Carter Kent Among Weekly Honorees

Jennings County’s Carter Kent was another Southeastern Indiana athlete recognized for his outstanding play. The senior guard delivered a standout performance during the March 3-8 period, helping his team to key victories down the stretch. His ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game made him a key player for the Panthers.

Southeastern Indiana Basketball Continues to Impress

With multiple players from Southeastern Indiana earning weekly honors, the region continues to be a force in Indiana high school basketball. Hauser’s regional championship run, South Ripley’s standout performances, and Jennings County’s strong finish are all testaments to the depth of talent in the area. As the postseason continues, these players will look to build on their success and keep Southeastern Indiana basketball in the spotlight.

The IBCA Player of the Week awards are presented by Franciscan Health Sports Medicine, recognizing top performers from each of the IHSAA’s three districts throughout the season.
