(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Community School Board President Stephanie Davidson served as the corporation’s voting delegate at the annual Delegate Assembly of the Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) on October 5 at the Indiana Convention Center.
As the school corporation’s delegate, Davidson represented the board in discussions and votes on matters affecting school corporation governance and public education across Indiana.
The Delegate Assembly provides a forum for locally elected school board members to ensure that the voices of their communities are reflected in statewide education discussions.
At this year’s meeting, delegates discussed and approved ISBA’s annual budget, a slate of officers and directors for the ISBA Board of Directors, and Legislative Priorities and Foundational Statements for the 2027 Indiana General Assembly as recommended by school board members who served on the ISBA Legislative Committee.
The legislative priorities adopted by delegates will guide ISBA’s advocacy efforts during the critical 2027 budget session of the Indiana General Assembly.
“The school board members who served as delegates this year are to be commended for representing the interests of their students, families, and taxpayers,” said ISBA Executive Director
Terry Spradlin. “The decisions made by delegates help ensure that local voices are heard at the state level through ISBA.”
Each school corporation with membership in the ISBA is entitled to send one school board member to the Delegate Assembly.
ISBA says it proudly supports excellence in local school board governance through professional learning, policy development, advocacy, and trusted legal guidance.
