BATESVILLE, Ind. — Schmidt’s Bakery celebrated its annual President’s Day tradition of serving Cherry Things-A-Ling’s from last Friday to this past Tuesday.
Their final count is 82,908 Thing-A-Lings, which is the largest amount ever.
In 2016 they sold 52,000.
The five-day event attracted approximately 4,140 customers this year compared to 3,000 last year.
When they first went on sale last Friday, the line was out the door all the way down to Randy’s Roadhouse.
Customers came from across the Tri-State and as far as Tennessee and Wisconsin.
They also shipped them all over the country to places including California, Arizona, New Jersey, and Florida.
Mark your calendars now for 2018. The longtime tradition is scheduled to take place February 16 – 20.
