Sunman, In. — The Salute a Soldier 5k Run/Walk is Saturday, September 9 at the Sunman American Legion Post 337.
Registration is from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. A short presentation along with a 21-gun salute at 8:45 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 9 a.m. There will be a special awards ceremony after the event. The course is timed by Stuart Road Racing.
Proceeds will be directed to the Sunman American Legion Post 337 in the memory of PFC Tony Seig who lost his life Iraq back in 2006.
All veterans and members of the military will be honored by small American Flags that will line the route. Resident s can purchase the flags for $10 at the event.
