(West Harrison, IN) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says the reopening of the State Road 46 bridge over the Whitewater River in West Harrison remains delayed due to the impacts from a fire earlier this month.
The bridge located between U.S. 52 and State Road 1 in Dearborn County was closed by INDOT in early April for a rehabilitation project, but sustained cosmetic damage earlier this month when a supply truck caught fire while parked on the span.
As a result, contractors still need to clean and repaint the affected areas.
There’s no timeline for project completion.
